Bio

Ahmad Yousefi is a professional percussionist who is currently finishing his Master’s degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He holds a Bachelor's degree from San Jose State University, and an Associate’s degree from Chabot College. His recent appearances include as a Percussion Fellow with the Fresno Orchestra Opera Summer Academy and Principal Percussionist of the California Orchestra Academy. Growing up in the Bay Area, Ahmad actively studies under Jacob Nissly, Jack Van Geem, Haruka Fujii and Patti Niemi. His former instructors are Divesh Karamchandani, Bryce Leafman, Galen Lemmon, and Artie Storch.

Ahmad recently had the pleasure of playing the Rite of Spring in the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, California. Ahmad has spent the last 10 years teaching percussion lessons, throughout schools in the Bay Area, and has a private teaching studio. Ahmad wants to spread his knowledge of percussion and give back to the community that raised him. In 2024 he received the Outstanding Music Performer award by the faculty at San Jose State University and most recently in May of 2025 he was runner up for the Percussion Arts Society: Day of Percussion Marimba Competition!
